Greg has over 20 years teaching experience in the areas of economics, finance and management, both in the higher education sector and the broader finance industry. He has taught at a number of higher education providers and has presented professional development programs for a variety of financial industry organisations. He has a keen interest in curriculum development and the use of technology enabled learning strategies with a focus on highlighting the linkages between academic theory and its practical application. Greg is a Certified Financial Planner with over 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Greg has been providing financial advice since 1996, operating his own Australian Financial Services License in Parramatta since 2003 specialising in financial advice for older Australians including investment, superannuation, retirement and aged care planning strategies. Greg has extensive education management and teaching experience, most recently with Kaplan Business School and Kaplan Professional. He has also taught with Western Sydney University's School of Business, lecturing in financial planning as part of the undergraduate financial planning specialisation and the postgraduate Master of Financial Planning programs. Prior to WSU, Greg was Program Manager for Business at UTS:Insearch managing the Diploma of Business. Greg held this position for over 4 years and was responsible for the overall quality and delivery of the program. He was active in a number of academic quality committees, including holding positions on the Academic Board, Teaching & Learning Committee and as Chair of the Results Ratification Committee. Greg has a Bachelor of Economics and Master of Management from Macquarie University, a Master of Education from the University of Technology Sydney and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia. Greg is also currently completing a PhD focused on guardianship roles for financial planners to mitigate elder financial abuse.
