About Greg Durack

Over thirty eight years of experience in the resources sector primarily in operations and project development roles within gold and base metals. I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Chemistry from Curtin University in 1981 with my first role was as an Industrial Chemist on a base metal mine, Teutonic Bore in WA. I eventually became more interested in extractive metallurgy which subsequently had me working in that field. Work experience took me to operational mines both very large and small in Papua New Guinea, Queensland and numerous locations within WA, attaining the roles both Resident Manager and later as General Manager at a number of mine sites within Normandy Mining Limited with whom I worked for a total of eleven years. I then was involved in the Feasibility Study for Ahafo Project in Ghana responsible for process design and infrastructure, and then was given the role of in country General Manager within Normandy for the Perama Project in Greece, which was a development project. The project was subsequently sold upon the Newmont takeover, and I returned to Perth at the end of 2004. I then looked to the junior mining sector as they present challenges that require development of many skills.
