My name is Greg Farris. I am currently a doctoral student at Seattle Pacific University studying Education. as well as pursuing a Master's Degree in Digital Education Leadership. I am also an adjunct faculty member at Seattle Pacific University teaching undergraduate Health, Human Performance, and Recreation classes and graduate Education classes. My professional goals include building curriculua and teaching at the college level and integrating concepts of health, human performance, and recreation into academic and research programs. I am interested in studying aspects of outdoor adventure leadership and facilitation, and the role that spirituality and religion plays in recreational experiences to facilitate the improvement of health and wellness. I have held instructor of record duties at Seattle Pacific University, Lubbock Christian University, Texas Tech University, Baylor University, Oklahoma State University, Logan University, Meramec College, Missouri Baptist University, University of Houston, San Jacinto College, North Harris College, Houston Community College, Tomball College, and Montgomery College. My primary areas of interest are outdoor education and outdoor adventure. I currently hold or have held national certifications as a Climbing Wall instructor, by the American Mountain Guide Association, Challenge Course Practitioner, through the Association for Challenge Course Technology, Leave No Trace Trainer through LNT Inc, and Wilderness First Responder through WMI and NOLS. I have 35 years of experience leading backpacking trips, rock climbing trips, and challenge course experiences. Specialties: My favorite activities are outdoor photography, mountain climbing, backpacking, hiking, bicycling and triathlon. I have reached the summit of 33 peaks in Colorado over in elevation. I have also reached the highest geographical point in 37 states. I am a guide and instructor with REI and a challenge course facilitator and zip line guide with Camp Tilikum.
