Background
About Greg Fizer
I am passionate about preparing inmates for successful reentry. My team and I continuously seek to create and provide meaningful programming opportunities, which are evidence-based. Our goal is to provide a learning environment in a multitude of domains so that each offender can experience growth in their knowledge and skills. We seek to provide hope and transformation. I provide effective leadership with my program team to accomplish monthly and annual program milestone goals. I graduated from the ASU Doctor of Education Program in Leadership and Innovation in 2019. My dissertation consisted of a study regarding the use of trained peer tutors in a correctional environment. My research indicated that the inmates in adult basic education benefited in their academic performance from the assistance of trained peer tutors. The qualitative results indicated that the students in all classes felt supported, encouraged, and assisted by the use of trained peer tutors and an andragogical approach to instruction.
