About Greg Funk

In the last 13 years has been involved in management, and currently managing a multicultural and diverse staff of 13. In close to twenty years acquired a very diverse mix of computer skills in the areas of development, maintenance, training and support. During this time have also increased knowledge of computer science by attending night classes and first earning a Associates Degree in Computer Science and more recently a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. With my vast experience combined with education I have become a valuable asset in the ever-changing environment of computers and networking. Independent contracting has given experience in project management. Currently supervise thirteen staff, nine women and four men; a multicultural and diverse group. Perform all hiring, staff development and if needed firing. Using strong skills in motivation constantly meets department goals. Has ability to create a very effective working environment. The military also gave the opportunity to supervise and direct staff at many levels. At OCDC brought, frame relay networking, Citrix, e-mail, and just general networking across the state in over 27 locations. In the military over saw the deployment of maintenance system throughout the State of Oregon and was involved in evaluating it at the national level. Also in the military, over saw the deployment of Windows NT 3.51 and then NT 4.0. I continued such deployments at OCDC, just recently starting the move to Windows Server from 2008 to 2012. At OCDC, manage the primary fiscal software, Fundware and Abra the payroll and HR software. Deliver several large tracking systems to OCDC. These systems track the social services given to the children and families through head start and include; HSFIS, Attendance, SAMOA and STATUS. Also responsible to completing and verifying the Program Information Report that OCDC delivers to the federal government yearly and to the State of Oregon also yearly. Specialties: Developed several systems in Visual Basic used by management for planning. Currently supervise and over see the development. The bulk of this work has been in ASP and ASP.NET. While at OCDC, control over the IT budget portion of a 37 million over all budgets. Authorized all technology related purchases and have a good understanding of budget restrictions in a government environment. Controlled and accounted for agency’s IT equipment, maintaining over 400 computers and 15 servers.
