About Greg Hinds

Greg Hinds has been serving as the Director for Counter-Terrorism at INTERPOL since 2021. In this role, he is responsible for implementing INTERPOL's global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and managing its operational and policy responses to complex counter-terrorism challenges faced by the organization's 196 member countries. He leads the Counter-Terrorism Directorate, including three key sub-directorates: Counter-Terrorism Operations, Counter-Terrorism Capabilities, and CBRNE & Vulnerable Targets. With over 38 years of experience in policing, law enforcement, and peacekeeping, Greg is seconded from the Australian Federal Police (AFP). He has demonstrated strong leadership and consistent achievement in various demanding roles, including serving as the Police Commissioner for the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) for three years; and during his tenure cemented legislative and policy reform for Liberia’s Police and its Immigration Service, as well as delivering on the UN Security Council’s mandate to successfully transition and return all security responsibilities back to the Government of Liberia. At the AFP, he has held executive-level positions across Counter Terrorism, Serious and Organized Crime, Intelligence, Aviation, Protection Operations, and Community Policing. In support of his strong operational knowledge and experience, Mr Hinds has attained a Graduate Certificate in Applied Management, a Graduate Diploma in Public Administration (Policing), and a Master of Leadership and Management.
