About Greg Matzat
As a naval architect, ocean engineer and life-long sailor, I have a unique appreciation for the ocean, its energy and resources, and what it takes to engineer and build machines that operate offshore. I am responsible for the design, engineering and construction management of over 100 vessels built in the U.S. and around the world. At the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and U.S. Department of Energy, I worked to help start an offshore wind industry in the U.S. and New York that can provide affordable, clean energy. Now at COWI, I am responsible for business development across North America for the company's offshore wind and renewables engineering services including: feasibility studies; wind modelling, siting and energy production; met-ocean studies; design and engineering of foundations and substations; package management; design of offshore wind marine terminals; procurement and tendering; construction management and support; and optimization of wind farm performance.
