About Greg Moroney

I practise in insurance law, commercial law and act as general counsel to private clients. I am a Bond University trained mediator and have strong negotiating skills. EXPERIENCE With more than 37 years’ experience as a lawyer, I have previously been the senior partner and managing partner of one of Queensland's oldest law firms prior to its merger with another Brisbane based firm. Most recently I was a Principal of a law firm with offices in Brisbane and provincial Queensland. For more than 30 years I represented the Nominal Defendant a Queensland Government statutory body. I also represent an interstate government motor vehicle insurer. I am experienced in commercial property transactions and SME acquisitions, sales and franchising. I pride myself on my long term relationships with my clients and as such I am able to draw on that history to also provide general counsel to my clients. APPOINTMENTS In 2004 Chief Justice de Jersey AC appointed me as the inaugural Chair of the Legal Practitioners Admissions Board a position I continue to hold. Prior to this I was Chair of the Solicitors Board of Queensland. I am the Queensland Supreme Court's representative on the national Law Admissions Consultative Committee. Since 2005 I have been on the Board of Management of LifeTec Queensland Inc which is a not-for-profit association connecting people and communities with assistive technology to improve independence, productivity and enhance life experience.
