About Greg Nightingale

In 2016 I managed a team to winning an Australian Engineering Excellence Award under the category of Innovation, Research and Development with the project Smart Substation Design. I’m an experienced 3D designer, drafter and team leader for South Australia’s electrical distribution company SA Power Networks.As the leader of a high voltage substation design team I strive to ensure we deliver the designs for major projects on time, to budget and with a high level of accuracy and safety. It is also my focus to ensure our team is designing with today's technology and planning for years ahead.I've managed the team through a 2D to 3D design transition to ultimately become a BIM driven design group. I've also been developing new modelling standards and procedures to satisfy BIM and the needs of Autodesk Vault Professional and Inventor. In December 2015 I presented a class at the International Autodesk conference in Las Vegas on the topic of "3D Substation Design - A Brownfield Approach"​. I also co-presented in 2014 on the topic of "Designing Substations For The Future" where I also completed my Autodesk Inventor 2015 user certification.Specialties: Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault Professional, Substation Design Suite, Microstation V8i, point cloud design, people management and product design. gregor.nightingale@sapowernetworks.com.au
