About Greg Sheaf

I am a firm advocate of bringing an innovative approach to information literacy and library work while building on the practices and traditions that have been proven to succeed. During my time at the Library of Trinity College Dublin, I have been made permanent after I was originally recruited as a contract employee, been appointed as the Library's Web Services Librarian and now look after our website and varied social media streams, and been part of many projects and initiatives to further the work of the Library with staff and students. I have fostered close relationships with academics, been named as a co-author on academic papers and original research, and have spoken at numerous professional conferences. Many of the projects I have been involved in required working to tight deadlines while successfully managing other commitments and day-to-day obligations, and have influenced policy now in place in the Library. In line with the Library’s commitment to putting the user at the heart of our work, I have been involved with User Experience (UX) testing of the Library’s website and have been instrumental in aligning our web services with our users’ needs. I have a proven track record of working enthusiastically and effectively on a wide range of teams and committees, both as a team member and leader, and have taken on many extra responsibilities and duties. This includes being appointed as a Faculty Team Leader in the Teaching and Research Support Section of Readers’ Services, liaising regularly with the Library’s Leadership Team and line managing staff.
