About Greg Silverman

My lifelong interest in mathematics and the physical sciences has led me to develop exemplary problem solving skills. My passion is solving complex problems through transforming data into working knowledge. As a Senior Software Systems Developer, I have worked extensively with many technologies to manage large volumes of data used in clinical research. As one example, in my current position I have designed an innovative data warehouse and developed web-based tools to:(a) assess whether there is an adequate patient cohort to conduct clinical research; and (b) categorize risk of developing chronic disease. I have also developed methods for researchers to gain more efficient access to medical imaging data for use in clinical trials and other applications. I am also putting my expertise to use as a volunteer software developer and data scientist. By developing mobile apps and APIs to capture environmental assessment data, and creating methods for transforming and analyzing these data, I ultimately hope to highlight the evidence supporting more sustainable home gardening practices. In my spare time I like to test my skills in mathematical reasoning and functional programming by working my way through ProjectEuler.
