About Greg Smethells

I've spent my career designing and developing mathematical or medical imaging software. I have a broad range of experience in software engineering, operating systems, distributed systems, high-performance computing, and computer architecture. I have published papers in major physics and computer science journals such as the Physical Review E and the Journal of Computational Physics. My development projects include three-electron I-integral convergence acceleration research, a portable application code toolkit for MPI and pthread enabled physics simulations on massively parallel supercomputers, and a full featured Picture Archive and Communication System realized as a distributed system for medical image storage and distribution. I have had logins on the largest supercomputers in the world. I have architected major rewrites of software now used by orthopedic surgeons nation-wide.
