About Greg Tharp

An effective, creative problem solver with over 25 years of producer titled experience on studio film, independent film, high budget commercial, low budget social, network live event, documentary, and music video production. Awards include a Grammy, MTV Video of the Year, Cannes Silver Lion, One Show Gold and Bronze Pencils, and several Clios. My production experience is with my own production companies, staff and consulting jobs at successful tech start ups and esteemed creative agencies. Doggedness and curiosity are the key ingredients to my success, which I attribute to good mentorship at NYU and NBC Studios. My leadership experience has direct oversight of staff employees at my own companies and in the leadership ranks at Wealthsimple, Deutsch Advertising, and JWT. Additionally, I directly manage project teams as large as two hundred personnel in many instances. I've been fortunate to mentor some notable commercial producers who have gone on to become young executive producers and head of productions. My immersive, experiential based management style, where I keep a safety line and my ultimate responsibility in place, but give a lot of room for individual decision for growth, has developed many dedicated teams that work well across many different types company cultures.
