About Greg Thomas

I feel I have a very diverse background including 22 years of military experience in the United States Air Force, and the Toledo Refining company for the last 15 years, as well as my education and training. I have several strong areas of experience including refinery operations (15 years), training development, execution, instruction, and documentation (20 years), occupational health and safety (19 years), process safety management (9 years), technical writing skills involved in establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure regulatory compliance (19 years) I have supervised and worked with both union and salary environments, including several joint ventures and committees involving safety and training while at Toledo Refining (15 years). The details of these are provided in the sections below. I can provide samples of the publications I have developed regarding some of these areas and references to team members I worked with as well. My strengths are communication written and verbal, I am self-motivated and goal oriented, computer skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and many other common use electronic media programs), organizational skills, project management, supervision, and the ability to work with management, peers and subordinates on team projects, company goal achievements and establishing standards. I have a thorough knowledge of OSHA, Environmental, and Industrial Hygiene regulations at local, state and federal levels. I have the ability to apply these to local work environment and establish policies and local standards based on interpretation of these regulations to ensure compliance.
