About Greg Young
I am an academic and international theorist, strategist and consultant on culture, planning and governance with broad global experience in these areas and seminal publications. In 2016 Routledge republished earlier books of mine 'Reshaping Planning with Culture' and 'The Routledge Research Companion to Planning and Culture'(for which I was Principal Editor). Both of these book have won international critical acclaim. Amid social, cultural and planning theory and practice the books also describe the neologism of 'culturization' which I originated and subsequent models for 'culturized planning' and 'culturized governance'.(see 'The culturization of planning' Planning Theory, and the Routledge publications). Culturized approaches are now much cited and strongly influential in European policy development. In 2019 New South Books (an imprint of UNSW Press) published 'Paddington: A History' which I developed and edited. The book examines the history of Australia's best known suburb through a series of innovative thematic windows including indigenousness, social and architectural history, creativity, bohemianism and gentrification and its phases.
