I currently lead Arup’s Site Infrastructure team in Dublin and have 27 years’ experience in the design offices of multi-disciplinary consultancies. I have worked in Ireland, South Africa and the United Kingdom on design and contract administration of large EPCM contracts, water supply schemes, large main drainage schemes and projects in the residential, commercial, health, education, mining, pharmaceutical, industrial and manufacturing sectors. I’m experienced in projects that fully embrace digital design (BIM) and have been responsible for managing the 3D design of below ground assets (e.g. services modelled in Civil 3D), on surface assets (e.g. roads and dams modelled in Civil 3D) and coordinating these models with the 3D design of above ground assets (e.g. buildings modelled in Revit) and visualizing the composite and co-ordinated 3D replica models in viewing software such as Navisworks. I’m experienced in the preparation of 4D models of critical project components to visually track construction progress against project schedule.
