About Gregor Cerar

I’m Gregor ("Greg"). Research & Innovation Engineer at Comsensus and a Postdoc / Professional Research Fellow at the Jožef Stefan Institute (SensorLab). I'm a generalist Python developer. I write software for backend services, tools for interacting with hardware, and task automation. I occasionally work on AI tasks and deal with Linux, containers, Kubernetes, and related tooling. I used to write embedded C, Go, JavaScript, and TypeScript, but now it’s mostly Python. On the academic side, I’m interested in self-supervised learning, time-series analysis, and smart infrastructure. I hold a PhD in ICT, where I focused on wireless communication and AI. I co-maintain SensorLab's compute infrastructure. On the industry side, I work on whatever needs to be done. Across both settings, I contribute to national and European research and industry projects. Beyond work, I enjoy the quiet side of life. I enjoy writing clean Python code, delving into research that interests me, and spending time outdoors hiking. I also enjoy playing chess and the classic “Uno!” card game.
