About Gregory Armstrong

I have worked in the non-profit industry since 2014, focusing on developing organizational frameworks, protocol, and serving as the main support for a variety of teams, through an HR lens. I currently work in Human Resources as a Recruitment Specialist. I currently oversee hiring and recruiting, payroll management and administration, DEIA initiatives and general HR administration as a part of a small but comprehensive team at the Folger Shakespeare Library. My previous experiences have included created and reviewing budgets and contracts, supervising program teams and staff, working with students from Elementary school through High school in a variety of programs, and being the main logistics point person on federally-funded public humanities initiatives. I have successfully executed multiple arts engagement programs that serve students in the DC-area, connecting them to theatre through performance festivals, matinee programs, school residencies, and actor workshops. I have also worked closely on multiple NEH-funded grant programs that serve teachers across the country and the public of Washington DC. I successfully planned the logistics of these programs, from overseeing the budgets and accounting, to writing reports to the grant-conferring agencies, and overseeing staffing, managing spaces and catering. My years of experience have made me a multifaceted and adaptable member to any team of any size and have given me a strong set of skills that can apply to most industries.
