About Gregory Coleman

I have served in the U.S. Navy for 13.5 years as a Navigation Electronic Technician. I completed basic training in 2001 followed by Subschool and "A"​ school in Groton, CT. In 2003 I had the pleasure of serving on board the USS Albuquerque, a "fast attack"​ submarine. I was part of the Navigation Division. Our duties included preventative and corrective maintenace on the inertial navigation equipment, BPS 15H radar, interior and exterior communications to the ship, etc. Upon being detached in 2008 I was stationed at SWFLANT in Kingsbay, GA as part of Electronic Security Systems division. During my 3 years on shore duty I was able to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on ESS equipment and also assisted in the Lock and Key program. My time here was much enjoyed and helped further my troubleshooting abilities overall. After my shore duty I was able to complete my "C" school furthering my overall knowledge and also allowing me to serve on board an SSBN. In 2012 I was stationed aboard the USS Rhode Island, a ballistic missile submarine (SSBN). During my time aboard I once again served as part of the Navigation division. My second sea tour was mainly focused on the conventional navigation side but I also got a chance to help with the Strategic side as well. We also performed preventative and corrective maintenance on the interitial navigation equipment, BPS 15J radar, sensitive strategic navigation equipment, and also the interior and exterior communications to the ship. I was honorable discharged from the Navy on June 18, 2015.
