About Gregory Davis

I presently teach Physical Education at the Douglass Elementary School campus. I graduated from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York and received my certification after arriving here in El Paso, Texas. I have 44 years of experience as an educator starting in summer camps as a Athletic Director and Outdoor Education Specialist. I presently hold two masters degrees one from Lesley University in Boston, Massachusetts (Technology Curriculum Integration, K-12) and the other from Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida (Educational Media Design and Technology). I also facilitate several after school programs on a volunteer basis, Chess (USCF Chess Coach Level 2), UIL Chess Coach, Robotics, Rocketry, Art and Archery(NASP Certified_BAI). These programs are used to enhance and give reality and validity to the students educational experience. Recently received my Texas Master Gardener certification-2018. Our chess group began about 21 years ago (1995) with five or six special ed/At Risk students. As a challenge to my peers I used this medium to show these students true validity to their lives that they can achieve more that what was expected of them. By the end of that school year they were placing 1st -3rd within their categories and have not turned back since.
