Dr. Guzman is well-known throughout the Midwest for his experience, expertise, and extensive knowledge in the higher education sector. He is an exceptional leader and published scholar in the Higher Education field with the ability to engage and empower faculty, staff, students, and external constituencies. His published book,"Out of Pocket" has been called a "must read" and named one of Amazon's Best Reads in the College Category. He has 30-years of progressive experience in higher education (public, private, and proprietary sectors) with highly successful experience in executive IHE leadership, turn-around management, enrollment management, financial aid, admissions, student affairs & development, strategic planning, curriculum development, and philanthropy/fund-raising. Additionally, he has served on State-level program creation committees and nationally as a financial aid (NASFAA & MASFAA) trainer. As the first Latino to have ever served as a University Campus President in northwest Ohio, he has received national recognition for higher education enrollment accomplishments and been named as "One of Five Hispanic Ohioans to Follow" by the nation's leading Hispanic news company. Additionally, he has been profiled by the University of Southern California Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice for best practices in enrollment management. Recognized for his ability to create collaborative and collegial environments, he also serves as the Governor of Ohio's appointee to the State of Ohio Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs (OCHLA)- Northwest Ohio Commissioner. Dr. Guzman is now in his 3rd Term of service working in a 16-county area. Dr. Guzman has been recognized publicly for his accomplishments and commitment to community, as well, through receipt of The Diamante Award; The "20 under 40" Award; the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid James White Award; and the Central City Ministry of Toledo's Urban All-American Award.
