About Gregory Jenkins

I am a full-time Mechanical Engineer with a Master's of Robotics Engineering from the University of Maryland (May 2017). I design and test DO-160 compliant flight and ground systems for a cross-platform, multi-function SIGINT and COMINT system. I spend my free time working on racecars to expand my working understanding of vehicle design and improve performance characteristics, which I can test and later race in competitive time trial events (a.k.a. autocross). I am also an organizer for a DMV based autocross club where I help plan and run safe events for hundreds of participants each year. Typical duties include course design, event setup and breakdown, track safety, and driving instruction for both new and experienced drivers. Most recently I built a kit car for autocross. A full photo album of the build is attached in the media section below. I enjoy rock climbing for personal physical and mental fitness. Climbing is a challenging sport that utilizes your body and mind simultaneously by incorporating strength, balance, and technique to ascend heights up to 40'(indoors) and beyond. A successful climb minimizes energy loss via correct body placement and movement while solving the, often complex, problem of deciphering the most efficient path up the wall while promoting safe climbing practices.
