About Gregory Kim
Gregory Kim is the founder of Vantage Counsel LLC, based in Honolulu, Hawaii, which offers value-driven corporate and business law services. Previously, Mr. Kim was a partner at Convergent Law Group LLP and Virtual Law Partners LLP, based in Silicon Valley, a corporate partner at Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel for 16 years, as associate at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro in SF, and a law clerk to the Hon. Herbert Choy on the 9th Circuit. Mr. Kim received a BS in engineering and applied sciences from Yale in 1979 and a JD/MBA from UC Berkeley in 1983, where he was articles editor of the California Law Review. Mr. Kim is a co-founder of HiBEAM, an accelerator for emerging companies in Hawaii, and is a founding director of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Hawaii. Mr. Kim has also serves on the advisory board of the Hogan Program at Chaminade Univ, is an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Punahou School, a Professional-In-Residence at the Univ. of HI Shidler School of Business, and a Lecturer at Law at the Univ. of HISchool of Law, teaching the Entrepreneurship and Small Business Clinic since 2008. Mr. Kim has also Chaired the Business Law Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association, and founded and chaired 2 subsections of the Bar Association-the Venture Lawyers Work Group and the DCCA Work Group, which worked closely with the government to make laws more business-friendly. Mr. Kim drafted the Hawaii Business Corporation Act, and is also an editor-in-chief of the Corporations Law Manual. Mr. Kim is also the founder of the Business Law Corps, a legal nonprofit that provides pro bono business law services to deserving entrepreneurs. Mr. Kim is recognized as a leader in the field of corporate law by Best Lawyers, Chambers USA and SuperLawyers. Mr. Kim played Varsity tennis for Yale, and his interests include bagpiping, trombone and tap dance.
