About Gregory Mallo

Dr. Gregory C. Mallo, M.D, FAAOS is a Board-Certified Shoulder Surgeon with Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group, an affiliate of Northwell Health. He previously spent 4 years as part of St. Charles Orthopedics. Prior to that, he spent 11 years in the United States Navy, which included deployment to a forward operating position in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan with the Marines of the Combat Logistics Battalion out of Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. From 2010-2014, his military practice involved complex shoulder and knee care for U.S. Marines and Sailors, including members of the Elite Special Forces and Wounded Warrior Communities. In 2014, Dr. Mallo was 1 of 4 surgeons in the nation chosen for the prestigious Advanced Arthroscopy Traveling Fellowship program by the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). In 2015, Dr. Mallo completed a Shoulder Fellowship at Harvard Medical School Clinical Fellow under the directorship of Drs. Jon J.P. Warner, M.D, Matthew T. Provencher, M.D, and Tom Holovacs,M.D. This prestigious 1-year comprehensive, immersion into the Open and Arthroscopic treatment of complex shoulder conditions included revision rotator surgery cuff and shoulder arthroplasty and was based at the renowned Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston,MA. Dr. Mallo has also had extensive international training. As a visiting fellow in Annecy, France at the Alps Surgical Institute under Laurent Lafosse and at Uniklink Balgrist in Zurich, Switzerland under Drs. Christian Gerber and Domniik Meyer, he participated in novel surgical techniques not yet available in the US.
