About Gregory Markov

My name is Gregory Markov, I am full-time employed at OZON (leading Russian e-commerce retailer) as a Financial Analyst. At the same time, I am an alumnus of International College of Economics and Finance (Higher School of Economics and University of London). I believe that I am a suitable candidate for this role because of my in-depth financial and business experience in such industries as e-commerce and apparel (clothes, shoes and accessories). I also possess solid on-the-job knowledge of corporate finance, accounting and financial modeling. Being part of matrix structure (reporting to Financial Partner and Commercial Head), I developed strong analytical thinking and business judgement. Specifically, on the financial side I accomplished several cases in financial modeling and valuation, while on the commercial side I provided general analysis of seller’s performance and personally participated in meetings with them. In my opinion, this mix enables me to add value at all major stages of your business process. What is more, reflecting on OZON’s current need to secure product sourcing to the marketplace and remain leading position in the industry, I took part in many different projects, such as implementing postpayment model, attracting new assortment from sellers for financial benefits, calculating financial consequences from the fire of New Riga warehouse and many others. I really dream about making a career, inspired by “King of Capital” by David Carey and John E. Morris, which I read at the age of 15. It is always on my desk. Furthermore, I am a participant of the School of Finance Expert Program, where I get practical knowledge in corporate finance, valuation and financial modelling.
