About Gregory Plotner

I am a Cyber Security Incident Handler working for TSCTI. I work on the DLA CERT team as a contractor for DLA. I formerly worked for Columbus Network Assurance with DISA. For this position I am familiar with multiple analyst tools and interfaces such as Cisco SourceFire, Splunk, Wireshark and NetScout. My main job is to analyze network traffic/packet data as well as incident response. I was a Cyber Transport Specialist Journeyman with the Ohio Air National Guard. That was my AFSC within the Guard. My job was network installation and management. I was a router and switch administrator, a cable installer and maintainer as well. I was also responsible for phone installation and maintenance. I worked as a Title 32 Temporary Technician in the Comm Focal Point at the 179th Airlift Wing. My job consisted of a variety of tasks. A few to list would be phone installations, network management, computer re-imaging, and working our help desk. I gained knowledge on computer systems and functionality during my time there and was even gaining experience with ACAS. During my six month deployment I worked as a Network Manager and expanded my knowledge and understanding of routing and switching. I was one of the few administrators that managed the vast network on the installation. I gained vast knowledge of Cisco Switches and Routers and ITN’s as well and their phone systems. I learned how to interface with tools such as SolarWinds and SecureCRT and even their Cisco Phone Configuration Interface. I helped manage the DHCP server on base and I even was able to learn their Cisco Wireless Access Points and how to configure and maintain them. I have a few certifications, one being Security Plus and Certified Ethical Hacker. In total I have been in the IT field for seven years and I have enjoyed every second of it. I’m always eager to learn and expand my skill set and keep growing.
