About Gregory Sollish

I am an anthropologist broadly interested in how intensive qualitative methods can lead to critical community change. My research and teaching have focused on issues of digitally mediated communication, immigration, and democracy movements. I have received numerous fellowships for my current research project that explores how communities and individuals effectively organize into democratic collectives to affect institutional change in the city of Detroit, Michigan. I am pursuing a career in which I can translate these skills in political organizing and democracy research to have an even broader impact on building a more just and equitable world. In addition to human-centered research, I have experience in report writing, policy analysis, data analysis, statistical analysis, community organizing, grant writing, and development. Bring these skills together, I am interested in how we can better use careful analysis to improve advocacy projects and build sustainable change.
