About Gregory Stevens

My name is Greg, and I'm an Application Developer working for Business Integra on the SITSS contract in support of NASA SEWP. With nearly six years of experience and an MS in CS, I have a strong foundation in software development. During my tenure at NASA, Symantec, and WatchGuard, I focused on developing Java REST APIs using JEE and the Spring Framework for cloud-based applications, including frontend components. Notably, I was entrusted to architect and develop a new feature from the ground-up at NASA, which I successfully launched within four months. This achievement demonstrated my ability to follow an iterative agile methodology and employ best practices across the design, software development, and database lifecycles. Additionally, I have been entrusted with senior-level responsibilities such as overseeing the deployment process and effectively communicating changes through demos and written communication. At Symantec, I took the lead in front-end development for a groundbreaking feature in our Symantec Advanced Endpoint Protection (AEP) enterprise product. Leveraging my skills in AngularJS, I played a pivotal role in delivering a feature that was praised by a Senior Vice President as a promise fulfilled. Furthermore, I proactively ensured code coverage requirements by researching and integrating a tool called EvoSuite, which generated JUnit tests. I streamlined this process by automating it with custom BASH scripts. I also mentored a summer intern, assigning them stories and tasks to contribute to their professional growth. My software development journey began on May 29th, 2016, and I continued to expand my knowledge and skills by earning a Master of Science in Computer Science degree from Georgia Tech in August 2020. Georgia Tech's MS CS program is ranked number 8 nationwide by U.S. News & World Report. Throughout my studies, I specialized in Interactive Intelligence, actively participating in team-based and solo projects. I developed applications using Java, Python, React.js, and more, following the full software development lifecycle. In addition to my technical expertise, I am fluent in Japanese and have worked as a volunteer interpreter and professional translator. I followed strict security regulations while remotely translating documents into English for large corporate clients.
