About Greig McGuinness

As a Professional Pensions Trustee and Regional Head for Scotland with Dalriada Trustees, I am interested in all things pension and governance related as well opportunities within Scotland and the rest of the UK. I am an APPT accredited Professional Pension Trustee and an associate of the Pensions Management Institut. I have a strong technical background and wide ranging experience in pension scheme governance, including numerous complex negotiations, investment reviews and corporate transitions Since entering the industry in I have gained a wealth of experience across the spectrum of pensions management. With a background in administration and general pension scheme management, I have particular expertise in communicating with and dealing with complex member matters. My current appointments range from a £1 million pension scheme with 30 members to a £500 million scheme with around 5,500 members. Those pension schemes vary in sectors and status including an open DB scheme for the UK based staff of a G8 Country’s Government; a DC scheme with a DB underpin and continued salary linkage for a multi-national IT company and; legacy schemes for traditional Scottish textile companies. I am a non solicitor member of the Law Society Scotland’s Pensions Law Sub-committee and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Scotland's Pensions Panel. I am also regularly featured in industry publications discussing current pension issues.
