About Gretchen Devany

Interior Designer with skills in AutoCAD and Revit seeking an entry-level job in an interior design or architectural firm. In addition, has a strong focus on residential projects, specifically space planning / floor plans. Ever since I was a five-year-old child, I have had a love and fascination for space planning. It all started when I got a doll house for Christmas that same year. This particular doll house came with a separate colored floor plan, which was something that I had never seen before. I'm not quite sure when it officially began, but I started to develop floor plans of my own. I would create them on printer paper, notebook paper, or those cardboard squares found in wall calendars. As time progressed, I started to plan them through Windows Paint. During my middle school years, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to go to school for interior design so that I could learn how to turn my passion into a reality. Now, it may seem odd that I would go to school for interior design instead of architecture. However, despite a strong love for the overall layout of a house, I do have a passion for creating concepts for individual spaces. Throughout my college education, I have acquired the necessary skills needed to create and professionally present my concepts, which I hope to share through my future position.
