About Guido Ascari

Starting from September 2021 I am Economic Advisor & Head of Monetary Policy Research at the De Nederlandsche Bank. I am also a Professor of Economics at the University of Pavia, Italy, which I joined in and where I became a Professor of Economics in 2007 (I have been on leave in the period 2012-2017). I have been a Professor of Economics at the University of Oxford in the period 2014 - 2021. I joined the Economics Department at Oxford University first in 2012 as a visiting professor on my sabbatical leave from Pavia and then as a senior fellow in 2013/2014, then as a Professor of Economics in 2014. My research focuses on Macroeconomics and Monetary Economics. During the years I was visiting scholar/ professor in the following institutions: Deutsche Bundesbank Guest Professor at Freie Univerisitat Berlin (July 2014), Bundesbank and Goethe University Frankfurt (Apr-May 2012), BIS (2011), University of York (UK, July 2009, July 2011, Feb 2006), Banque de France (Oct 2008), Federal Reserve Bank of New York (July 2008), Kiel Institute for World Economy (June 2007, June 2006), University of Evry (Paris, May 2007), Bank of Finland (Aug 2003), University of Warwick (June 2003), Universidad Carlos de Madrid (Oct 2001).
