About Guido Hendriks

Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated by the world, computers and how everything works. As soon as we had internet at home I started building websites with friends, and before we had our first physics class in high school I gave a presentation about Newton’s laws of motion. I continued to study physics at university and specialized towards nano technology and solid state physics. My interest in computers also remained, as I took great joy into automating most of the measurements of my graduation project in LabVIEW and MATLAB. At Tata Steel I continued along this track of combining my knowledge about physics with my creativity for solving problems using data analysis. It makes me proud to say that at Tata steel I was one of the first people to adopt R as analytics tool and helped set up the Data Science department. I enjoy working in new and exploratory fields and departments, using my creativity to solve problems and learn on the job.
