About Guifre Tort

Guifre is a serial innovator and creative entrepreneur with an architectural and artistic background. He is the inventor and patent holder for TEBS (Traffic Energy Bar System) and its team leader Guifre’s years of experience, holding leadership positions in small business management such as Innovation Fund, a Puerto Rico based company, owner of the first crowdfunding platform in the Caribbean, at the same time he have been working in the development of two other energy projects (energy efficiency and energy generation) for the last five years. His latest entrepreneurial endeavor has been The Selfee App, a mobile application that rewarded people for sharing their digital branded content through their social networks. In the NGO sector, Guifre is the co-founder and former interim executive director of Bluetide Puerto Rico, Inc. a Federal 501(c)3 and a local 1101 organization who's mission is:"Influence, innovate, Support and Increase the eco-responsible economic impacts of a sustainable development of the "Blue Economy" in the US Caribbean". Part of the team that has brought $25M in EDA funds through two grants ($9M non construction grant as applicants, having the UPR as co-applicants and a $16M construction grant as co-applicants, being LRA the applicants), and responsible of the administration of the organization and the management of the grant’s funding as well as the execution of the programmatic Organization’s Scope of Work and Outreach.(2018-to November 2021). Guifre's involvement in Puerto Rico's creative and entrepreneurial ecosystems gave him the opportunity to identify the struggles and needs of most of the industry players. Having lived those same struggles first hand and wanting to make sure future generations didn't had to go through all that trouble, made him join forces with three other ecosystem leaders with whom he Co-Founded, Neeuko, the Innovation Center of the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, design to be a think tank, makers space and an accelerator for innovators, entrepreneurs and startups. He also worked for 16 years in the Film Industry as an Art Director, Set Designer and as a Production Designer for major film studios, production houses and independent films. Guifre received his education in Puerto Rico where he obtained a BA in Visual Arts from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico, as well as three years of Architectural studies towards a Masters of Architecture. Married and father of two.
