Masters of Social Work student specializing in clinical social work with individuals, families, groups and other professionals. As a Mental Health Therapist- I am a family oriented holistic mental health clinician work with vulnerable populations. A registered social worker by profession, I come with a clinical and therapeutic social work and mental health counselling support skills. I have previously worked as a Case Manager with mental health unit at Alberta Health Services, Calgary Area and Children services, Mosaic Primary Care Network and Aspen Family Services. I have worked on Identity Based Wrap Around Intervention focused on providing supports to gang involved youth and families from ethno-cultural communities using the High-Fidelity Intervention Strategies with Real Me at the Centre for Centre For Newcomers. I supports clients and their wellbeing through an anti-oppressive and strength-based approach, with special attention to the social determinates of mental health. I am an experienced implementer of brief and goal-focused mental health interventions, with foundations in motivational interviewing, Solution focused and Problems Solving Therapy, and an emphasis on the therapeutic alliance- built upon respect, empathy, and genuineness. I have over 13 years of work experience in collaborating with communities, group therapies, and providing holistic interventions within the context of quality-of-life improvement. I am focused on crisis with sensitivity to culture, racial and gender diversity, providing comprehensive support for the restoration of health and wellness. I am also a certified Instructor for the Circle of Security Parenting Program.
