About Guney Dogan

With about 20 years experience in Education, teaching VCE Sciences and Mathematics, in a variety of institutions from state schools to foundation year, the education of young adults is my passion. Learning quickly that the greatest changes to what occurs in classrooms is inextricably linked to the quality of leadership outside of them, I took my first leadership position after my first year as a teacher. I believe I can offer progressive experience in the education field, a passion for innovation in pedagogy and an unshakeable belief that with support, education can be the key to change lives. My professional history includes positions of responsibility ranging from; Leading teacher - Data manager (planning and implementing a school wide data cycle), Year Level Coordination at various levels, Head of Maths Faculty, Teaching Coach and more recently, Discipline Leader for Science and ICT at Monash College (Monash University Foundation Year). Although the titles, institutions and student demographics have changed, my belief that improving teacher self-efficacy being vital to improving student outcomes has remained steadfast."The role of a creative leader is not to have all the ideas; it's to create a culture where everyone can have ideas and feel that they're valued."
