About Gurpreet Toor

I am an associate lawyer with Duncan Craig LLP Business Solutions, Real Estate and Financial Services & Banking practice groups. I deal with all matters in areas of corporate and commercial law such as incorporations, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, unanimous shareholders agreements, partnerships, commercial acquisitions, leasing and financing. I also handle residential and commercial real estate matters. My ability to foster practical approaches to problem solving helps clients achieve success efficiently and effectively. I obtained my Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction), majoring in Accounting from the University of Alberta in 2018 and earned my Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta in 2021. In 2022, I was called to the Alberta Bar. During my time in law school, I received the Darcy Readman Prize in Personal Property Security Law. I volunteered with the Student Legal Services and Pro Bono Students Canada during my time in law school. I also interned at the Edmonton Community Legal Centre as part of the "Low-Income Individuals and the Law" course. Growing up in India and then moving to Canada alone at the age of sixteen to pursue higher education has shaped me into the professional I am today. My unique life experience allows me to be open to new opportunities and challenges, to understand and connect with people from different backgrounds, to constantly strive to do better and to find solutions that work for my clients. People in my life describe me as hard-working, poised, competent and knowledgeable. Corporate and commercial transactions can often become intricate and chaotic, and I endeavor to help my clients sort through these problems in a calm and competent manner. I aim to help my clients navigate the complex legal world with a methodical and consistent approach.
