I would love to connect and chat with you: https://calendly.com/gillgursimrat/coffee-chat A little bit about me: I was in grade 9 when my teacher took me to my first-ever career and education fair in Vancouver where a BCIT representative introduced me to accounting. I don’t remember anything else, but this stayed in my head, and I would try to read up about accounting in my own time. I even took an accounting class in my senior year of high school. I graduated with a BBA in Accounting through the co-op program at KPU. Since my graduation, I have been pursuing my CPA designation. I am an introvert who believes in making people feel comfortable sharing their stories. I want to motivate as many students as possible to step out of their comfort zone and keep at it, even when we feel the usual fight or flight response coming back. My most notable involvement during my academic career: 1. President of the ASK: Help connect accounting students with opportunities for employment and gaining knowledge. Vice-President of KPU SEC: Contribute to student life by hosting unique and engaging events. Accounting Case Competition team member: Work with peers to analyze cases in 3 hours and create a 15-20min presentation. Orientation Leader: Welcome new KPU students by sharing my experience as a student and information about resources available to them. Accounting Co-op: I worked in private and public accounting to make informed decisions for my future after graduation.
