About Guy Beadie

At Peak, I develop unique gradient index optical directions, designs, and capabilities. I interact with my fellow optical scientists, as well as with our company’s engineers from development to manufacturing, principally to develop new capabilities or support emerging ones. I draw on my background in optical research, numerical modeling, materials development, and extensive problem solving in scientific laboratories to help move our company forward.Before my time at Peak, I was a Research Scientist and Section Head in the Optical Sciences Division of the Naval Research Laboratory. Research directions included development of the same gradient index optical technology currently leveraged at Peak, ultrafast spectroscopy with the ambitious goal of detecting airborne biological materials at a distance, dynamics of coherently driven molecules, and nonlinear optical frequency conversion via specially designed multilayer semiconductor structures, among others. For my last 8 years at NRL, I was the first-line manager for up to 7 scientists and contractors.I am an inventor on 5 patents, with a 6th in review. My peer-reviewed publication record includes 60+ papers with an h-index ~20. I was a presenter or co-author of 80+ contributions to scientific conferences.
