About Guy Hayes

I’ve had the privilege and honor to serve my country, for more than 24 years, through military service and as a federal employee at the Department of Interior. My career has been full of opportunities to work with seasoned professionals at the local, state, federal and international levels. I've led crisis communication efforts for many high-profile events, including a July 2010 U.S. Air Force C-17 that killed four service members, an August 2010 plane crash that killed former Sen. Ted Stevens, and a 2021 oil spill off the Southern California coast. I've been interviewed on major television networks to include CNN, MSNBC, ABC, FOX news, NBC, The Weather Channel and Larry King Live. I've also coordinated interviews for the Today Show and Good Morning America. For more than five years, I participated in a weekly live radio broadcast morning show with KBRJ 104.1 in Anchorage, Alaska, highlighting the weekly missions and stories of the Alaska National Guard during the "On Guard" segment. I've had hundreds of stories and photos published in media outlets in the United States and internationally. In March 2013, I traveled to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to highlight the first ever C-130 aviation maintenance exchange with the Mongolian Air Force. I interviewed with their national military newspaper and published photos and stories of the historic event. I retired from the Air Force and Alaska National Guard in April 2022. Public Affairs is still my passion and I enjoy the opportunity to help leaders communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
