I grew my first cannabis plants in 1995 in a well-worn Beacon Street apartment while attending Boston College—met my lovely wife Lanny that same year. I earned that Boston College degree in 1998, immediately putting it to work as a snowboarder, slinging hash and growing grass in Colorado while cutting baby teeth working for the Rocky Mountain News and Summit Daily News simultaneously in ‘98-‘00 In we moved to Bend, Oregon where we quite literally grew our roots with a clandestine, albeit large and ballooning cannabis community of serious cultivators. Lanny and I also learned all facets of print publishing, working with a small but tenacious and dynamic crew at the alternative weekly newspaper, tsweekly.com. Inspired to create our own periodical, in 2006, we moved to the other side of the Cascade Mountains, founding Eugene Magazine, “Lane County Oregon’s Lifestyle Quarterly” with little more than a credit card. EM proudly celebrates the very best of Eugene in print and online at eugmag.com serving clients like Rolex, Mercedes, BMW, Paul Mitchell and King Estate among others for 19 years now. Before launching Grow Magazine in 2016, I spent over two decades on the legacy cannabis scene from seed to sale all over New England, Colorado, California, Oregon and internationally. Grow Magazine is the world famous “Cannabis Horticuture Quarterly” available at all 600 Barnes & Nobles locations, some Kroger Supermarkets, dispos and head shops across the USA and beyond. We work with the world’s premier creators and regular powerful contributors to bring you the latest cannabis cultivation techniques, product reviews, grower and breeder profiles, cultivar reviews and legislative cultivation news on our website growmag.com and in our beautiful print magazine serving every major brand in the industry. Currently growing our family of five in Oregon’s Willamette Valley where we run the day-to-day operations of both magazines.
