About Guy Hornig

Currently, I am an Epic Anesthesia Application Analyst Team Lead; I have been with our e-health team for 5+ years. In this role, I conduct EPIC software validation, build, testing and implementation. Additionally, I provide ongoing operational support for the Epic Anesthesia application including but not limited to development of new projects and major updates. I built and migrated a new intra-op Crisis Management Protocol project 3 months ahead of schedule. The project was well received by the anesthesia providers and has since been awarded 2nd place at our organization’s patient safety fair. Prior to joining the e-Health team on a full-time basis, I was practicing as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) and clinical manager. My clinical anesthesia practice has spanned almost 21 years; my management experience 5+ years. My total experience with implementing EMRs is nearly 6 years. I bring a wealth of knowldge and experince to the table. I am passionate about my career as a CRNA and equally passionate about the opportunity that my analyst role provides me to advance the cause of patient safety and quality in anesthesia delivery. I am eager to apply both my clinical expertise in anesthesia and my Epic knowledge to solving operational issues. I relish the opportunity to take on what many think are “impossible” challenges and make them a reality. I’m always eager to hear from colleagues in the anesthesia and EMR community. I believe that nothing can survive in a vacuum; especially new ideas and opportunities.
