About Guy Leahy

Guy Leahy is currently serving as the Operational Support Team Specialist at Spangdahlem Air Base in Spangdahlem, Germany. Leahy is a member of the ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine), NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association), and is CSCS® certified. Leahy is the author/co-author of over 40 articles/papers, including original research which has appeared in publications such as The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, Tactical Strength and Conditioning (TSAC) Report, Aerospace Medicine and Human Performance, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Nature, Science and Scientific American. He has presented at many conferences, most recently at the 2023 NSCA TSAC Annual Training. He was also a guest speaker at the 2012/2013 and 2021/2022 TSAC conferences. In 2023, he received the TSAC Professional of the Year Award. In addition, Leahy reviews manuscripts for several journals, including The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and Military Medicine. Leahy holds a Master of Education degree from Western Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon. In addition, he has received a rating of "outstanding" on his last eight annual performance appraisals, and was awarded a monetary (and or) time-off bonus all eight years.
