About Guy Lieser

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I am a lifelong aviation professional, enthusiastic about sharing the joy of flying with others. My passion for aviation started at age thirteen when I rode my bike to the Aurora Municipal Airport and paid five bucks for an airplane ride. During the flight, the instructor handed me the controls and I haven’t been able to let go since. Last tally, I’ve logged over hours of flight time and helped hundreds of pilots advance their aviation careers. In addition to a lifetime of flying, I enjoyed a 32-year career with the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller and Airspace System Inspection Pilot. As a controller at Chicago Center, I held many positions and was directly involved with the training and career development of hundreds of air traffic controllers. During the flying portion of my FAA career, I worked as a flight check pilot and procedures specialist at the Flight Inspection Field Office in Battle Creek, MI. Concurrent with my FAA career, I've been involved in aviation in other areas. In I joined the National Aircraft Appraisers Association to learn the art of aircraft appraising. In 2002, I took a break from the FAA to help establish an aircraft lending division for a mid-sized Chicago bank. After returning to the FAA, I continued my aircraft appraisal practice. Over the past 20+ years, I have appraised hundreds of private, corporate, and commercial aircraft for individuals, banks, government agencies, and corporations. In my latest position at Revv Aviation, I’m responsible for business development and selling, appraising, and buying aircraft for clients worldwide. I also enjoy speaking at industry events on aviation subjects and enjoy training pilots of every level. I'm an active member of the Havard Business Review Advisory Council, the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators, the Professional Aircraft Appraisal Organization, the Experimental Aircraft Association, the National Association of Flight Instructors, and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. I also volunteer as an FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) Lead Safety Representative and serve on the Board of Governors for the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Illinois.
