About Guy Wiggins

I am a lawyer, technologist and a business oriented strategic thinker who has been focusing on the challenge of how to apply technology to meet the business goals of law firms for over 20 years. As the former Director of Practice Technologies and Innovation at Kelley Drye, my responsibilities included improving the knowledge management, software development and innovation functions of the Firm. I worked closely with many legal and administrative departments on a strategic and tactical level, from providing general direction to setting budgets and managing goals, implementing new technology and better processes to streamline work, reduce cost and achieve competitive advantage. A major focus during the past year has been evaluating and deploying legal AI tools, including Lexis +AI, Thomson Co Counsel, Harvey AI and Net Documents NDMax. I was the lead evangelizer at the Firm on both the benefits and weaknesses of AI in the practice law of law and worked hard to socialize both its benefits and its risks. I have years of hands-on experience in implementing technology and am highly knowledgeable in AI legal software tools like Co Counsel and Harvey, SharePoint, Knowledge Management tools including Enterprise Search, Workflow Systems and RPA tools like UIPath. Technology ownership included the Firm's AI tools, Intranet, Extranets, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Workflow, document automation/assembly and custom software development for internal teams and client facing projects. I am equally comfortable discussing the technical requirements of a new workflow or search system with engineers and developers, giving a presentation to the firm’s partners on how our technology platform can aide in the delivery of services or discussing our technology solutions with a client. I am a frequent speaker on technology and the law for organizations like ILTA.
