About Guyo Wako

As a seasoned Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) professional with over 14 years of experience in international development and humanitarian settings, I am driven by a passion for creating impactful, data-informed systems that enable organizations to deliver meaningful change. I hold a master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation from the University of Nairobi and have honed my expertise through diverse roles across Africa, building robust MEL frameworks for complex projects. In my current role as Director of M&E, Accountability, and Reporting at BOMA, a leading NGO dedicated to empowering women in Africa's drylands, I lead the development and execution of an innovative MEL strategy that transforms how BOMA measures and amplifies its impact. I champion adaptive management, data-driven decision-making, and continuous learning while harnessing technology to enhance project outcomes. Notably, I spearheaded the creation of a GIS portal with interactive maps to visualize intervention sites and introduced Business Intelligence tools to bring data to life. My mission is to ensure BOMA's MEL systems not only track progress but also showcase the transformative impact of its programs on women, men, youth, refugees, and their communities—driving sustainable change and organizational excellence.
