I decided to become a financial adviser because I firmly believe the vast majority of people, no matter how intelligent or successful, need someone they can trust to help care for their financial future. The 2010 US Census showed that while 12% of people will pass away before the age of 65, only 9% will be able to retire comfortably at that age. The other 91% didn’t plan to fail, they just failed to plan. As a father, entrepreneur and two-time recipient of the Business Man of the Year Award* I have found great satisfaction and success in the simple concept of giving and treating others with deep respect, kindness and consideration; never forgetting that it is an honor and privilege to be trusted by others. I’d like to share a personal story. My mother’s father was a stock broker in Uruguay. They traveled regularly, lived in a lovely home in a prestigious neighborhood and lived somewhat lavishly. When he passed at the age of 80, he was completely unaware that his wife would live the last 15 years of her life largely supported by their daughter.
