About Gwen Loeb

I've spent my life at the nexus of 3 careers: actress, nonprofit executive, and activist. The idea for World Builders Incubator (https://wbistories.org) started over a decade ago as a quiet dream and became an undeniable insistence in late 2022. I've watched as nonprofits and activists struggled to get their solutions understood and supported by the general public. I've also seen first-hand the power that stories have to build empathy and understanding. We have a lot of stories that have raised awareness about issues and normalized catastrophe. With new stories that normalize informed solutions, we can ignite our collective will to build the peaceful, equitable, sustainable world that is within our reach. Prior to World Builders Incubator, I spent 3+ years as the Executive Director of an Arts Justice foundation, where I transformed the grantmaking into targeted, high-impact funds designed to bring educational equity to students in Oakland's most financially oppressed public schools. Prior to that I successfully ran my own business for 15+ years, providing Organizational Development and Development Director services for a wide range of social justice, environmental, and arts nonprofits. I worked with clients for as little as one training and for as long as 7 years.
