About Gyaneshwar Dayal

I am a columnist and a documentary filmmaker. I started my career as a journalist in the 1990s with print media and later switched to audio visual. I have worked with print media, new media, and electronic media in my career spanning more than 25 years. I have edited several magazines and contributed write-ups to several national and international newspapers and magazines Right now I am working with The Statesman. Currently, I write an opinion piece for the Pioneer English Daily on regular basis. Earlier I wrote a regular weekly column “Never Mind” for South Asian Free Press, Canada. I contribute articles to online portals like altlipi.com, flagpost.com, asianewsmakers.com, laatsaab.com, asiannewsmakers.com, janexpresslive.com, and newageislam.com and many others. I have been doing write-ups, blog posts, and documentaries about the issues that concern us as a society and the nation. Most of my work has been about the underprivileged marginalized people who do not have a say in the system. I have done documentaries and write-ups about them and written extensively about various socio-political and human rights issues, the issues that are often swept under the carpet.
