Background

About Hadi Mirmohammad

I am a U.S. citizen with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and a strong background in materials science and experimental mechanics. Over the past several years, I have worked in numerous areas from nuclear materials and corrosion testing to microscale mechanical testing and advanced microscopy. I enjoy taking on complex technical problems especially those that require building something new, working across disciplines, or operating in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. Right now, I am focused on materials testing and development for advanced energy systems, including high-temperature corrosion work for sodium heat pipes in microreactor applications. I have also worked on TRISO fuel design, welding process development, and in-situ SEM testing, and I have hands-on experience with a range of tools from FIB/SEM and EDM to cleanroom processes and mechanical testing systems. I am someone who is comfortable leading technical efforts, writing test plans and reports, mentoring other engineers, and working closely with people from very different backgrounds. Whether it is designing custom fixtures, troubleshooting experimental setups, or digging into microstructural data, I like work that is hands-on, rigorous, meaningful and mission-aligned.
