About Hadyn Guzman

I am undertaking my third year of tertiary education, studying a double degree in Law (Honours) and Commerce at Monash University. In 2025, I was named a Top 100 Future Leader by the Australian Financial Review, being one of eleven law students nationally to be shortlisted for the Ashurst Law Award. Academically, I take great pride, and I was awarded the Unit Prize for Business and Economic Statistics, studied in 2023, achieving the highest mark in the cohort. I was also the winner of the 2023 Monash University First Year Moot Competition, which demonstrates my legal research, analysis, and advocacy skills. I was later presented with the Slater and Gordon Best Junior Advocate prize in 2024. I have worked in three legal environments in my career - I began as a Legal Administrative Assistant at Alphastream Lawyers, and I currently work as a Law Clerk at the Department of Education and as a Paralegal at Moores. Working in the law has allowed me to gain a practical and tangible understanding of the law unreachable in the classroom. My profound experience has given me a practical and commercial approach to issues and demonstrable experience consistently delighting clients. I also have extensive experience working in a team and managing multiple matters. In addition to my legal jobs, I have gained valuable experience in various roles, including working as an Electorate Officer, Tennis Coach, Private Tutor, Student Mentor, and Administration Assistant, in which I have always endeavoured to provide high-quality service, support, and guidance. I have also been an active committee member of the Monash University Law Students' Society (LSS) and Monash University Spanish and Latin American Club (SLAC). I served on the LSS committee as a 2024 LSS Careers Officer, assisted on the Activities Subcommittee, and engaged as a mentor in the Peer Mentoring Program. Furthermore, for SLAC, I served as the Academic Coordinator in 2023 and club Secretary in 2024. Due to my diverse South American cultural background, I have a passion for languages and cultures, and I am proficient in English, Spanish, and French. Enhancing my intercultural competencies, I had the honour of studying the Global Immersion Guarantee in Italy from January to February 2024. Through these roles and activities, I have developed and enhanced my leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, as well as my communication, organisation, and time management skills. I am a dedicated, positive, motivated, and reliable worker, hoping to further my career in the legal field.
